What we do

Seven trades, one shop

Feature stairs are what we are known for. Around them we build everything metal an architect draws into a room, plus the millwork that sits next to it.

Helical steel plate stair
S01

Feature stairs

Helical, curved and straight stairs in plate, channel and tube. Curved stringers are bump-formed on our own press brake, so the ribbon of steel is one continuous piece.

  • Helical and curved plate stringers
  • Three-stringer formed plate stairs
  • Sawtooth and monostringer stairs
  • Formed pan treads, wood and stone treads by others

Bump-forming a curved stringer plate on the press brake
Bumping

How a curved stringer gets its curve

A helical stringer starts as flat plate. We bump it on the press brake: a shallow hit, move the plate an inch, another hit, hundreds of times, until the plate takes the radius the model asks for. No roll marks, no outside forming, and the curve matches the drawing.
